<h2>Hi, my name is Adalina-Alejandrina Capuli Chaskañahui Merello, you can call me “Ada”. I am running for the democratic nomination of Georgia State House District 56.</h2>When you see me around the neighborhood, you’ll probably see me with my service dog, Angel. Please say “hi!”I am running for this seat as a daughter of a single parent, coming from a multicultural family, a worker among workers, and living with a bipolar diagnosis and whose Democratic Party chops want to maximize human potential. We need a mindset change. As a renter, rental laws are a personal reality, not a political point. My lived experience as a waitress makes our district’s struggle with equitable education a truth I know, not something I have to read about in policy briefs. My own trauma can demonstrate the tension folks feel between needing safety and fearing being unheard by law enforcement. I want the people in my district to be met where they are to be heard and so I can take action on what issues matter most to our overall good.&nbsp;I have lived in Atlanta almost 12 years and live in historic Vine City, in the beating heart of House District 56. I am running because as a waitress at Spoon Eastside, a research assistant at Cornell University, and a student of Cornell's Brooks School of Public Policy with a Masters of Public Administration, I know that our district needs a proven fighter who understands exactly how rental laws, public safety, and education impact people like you and I. We know the laws impacting rentals, equity in education, LGBTQ+ rights, women’s healthcare, etc. are more than just hypothetical debates. They are realities that we face every day.Our neighborhoods make the district unique, and I look forward to seeing you around our neighborhood soon. <h4></h4>

He is my certified psychiatric service dog. In February of 2022, I sought a canine companion and encountered Angel at LifeLine in Fulton County. He has since become a certified service dog and comes with me everywhere I go!
